Seventy years ago, the continent of Levelas was struck by the Tormenta, a storm of such proportions it severed its connection not only to the world at large, but to its very gods. What ensued was an age of disease, mutation, and vicious otherworldly monstrosities.

One month ago, Francies, hunter by trade and a Long Ear, children of the divine blessed with the traits of hares, received his Invitation, an unholy welcome to the sky-piercing pillar of brass at the center of it all, the Tower of Cilifus, and the ranks of its almighty Guests.

Tired of a pointless existence under the thumb of a tyrannical childhood friend, Francies departs without looking back, ready for the spoils this new life will surely bring. Little does he know, Cilifus does not give without taking, and has carved upon his soul a madness that leaves him vulnerable to horrors mortals are ill suited to grasp, but eager to exploit.

Warriors and scholars, nobles and peasants, monsters both old and new flock to Cilifus in search of strength, of wealth, of glories away from a world too tainted to bear any. One and all, they are condemned to become tools and footholds for a game few understand with an ultimate prize none can reject: Somewhere in the Tower, Heaven awaits those who reach.

What lies there that could possibly justify the bloodshed under its shadow? And why is Francies, despite his modest ambitions, beckoned towards that grandiose finale?

Only at the top will those answers be found.
